Mia’s Line Up: December 29, 2013

Merry Merry Christmas! 🙂 Hope you all had a wonderful time with your loved ones. Just want to let you know that I’m very blessed to have each and every single one of you in my life and I truly am honored to be part of such an amazing church/ministry. You guys are simply the best! <3

Galatians 6: 9-10 MSG

So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.

Philippians 3:12-14 ESV

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

I thought these two verses were very relevant for all of us as the year is coming to an end. This year was a busy year for a lot of us, whether it involved serving in ministry, going to school, working, or all of the above. I’m sure we’ve used the word “tired” a lot of times, referring to our physical, spiritual or mental state. Now that 2013 is coming to a close, I had to remind myself that the race isn’t over yet. Joel Houston from Hillsong United once said, “God allows us to look back, in order for us to see how He brought us to where we are now”. For all the tough and trying times that we experienced this past year, we can now make sense of why He made us go through different things like that — so we can give Him glory and are made stronger in His presence. The verse says not to allow ourselves to get fatigued by doing good, serving Him, honoring Him through the way we live because in His perfect time we will harvest good crop. That reward waiting ahead of us is Jesus. And that’s the greatest reward we can ever possess. Every year, I am reminded that our lives should speak of His story, not ours. So let’s continue to run towards where our Father is calling us. Finish strong. And as the new year is fast approaching, let’s look forward to the new challenges, surprises and plans that God has for us because one thing I know for sure is that is He will NEVER fail us. Never has and never will. The future is indeed looking bright for those who put their full trust in the Savior.
