Grace and peace to you all. It’s crazy to think that another year has passed with all its ups and downs. Yet the Lord is so faithful through it all. Do you remember every good and bad memory we’ve experienced together as a church? The Lord does. He was there, is still there, and will continue to always be there. We are not only celebrating the anniversary of Bridgepoint this Sunday, but we are celebrating another year of God’s work in and through us as the church of Christ. As one body of believers united under one name that is God. My prayer is that the Lord will continue to grow us each and every day as we continue to spread and live out our lives as a testimony of the Good News, that Christ made a way for us when there was no way.

This morning (technically yesterday) I asked the Lord which songs He wanted me to lead for Sunday worship. These songs instantly came up when I started listening to music and worshiping Him. This week I’d like to focus more on closeness to and trust in Jesus. Something my fellowship on campus is practicing right now is scripture memorization and application.

Psalm 46:1-2

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.”

Eventually I’d like to memorize the whole chapter. However, just memorizing a piece of God’s word and applying it to my life right now has made me feel a lot closer to Him. Waking up in the morning knowing that there is nothing to fear makes me feel so at ease, as if I am carried and cradled by the Lord every day. If you haven’t tried scripture memorization and application, I highly encourage you to try it out!! It’s an amazing experience, you won’t regret it. I just want to praise and worship Him this Sunday, and I look forward to worshiping our risen Lord with you all!!

Update for you guys: I decided that I would not take the route of going straight to medical school right after graduation. Rather, I got real with myself and with the Lord and decided to take a couple years off to gain more medical experience and exposure to patients and physicians. I want to be sure that this is where my passion lies, so yes. You can imagine that I started feeling pretty anxious, because I went from having a plan, to having no plan at all. The original plan was to study for the MCAT right away, take the exam, then apply for medical school. The new plan is “Now what…?”

However recently the Lord opened so many doors for me once I was honest with Him about my feelings of anxiety and insecurity about my future. Of the 3 doors He opened to me, I will share 1. My old friend randomly messaged me one day and asked how I’ve been and I told her I planned on taking a break after graduation to gain more experience and to see if medicine is what I really want to pursue. Shocked, she told me, “Really? My department here is always looking for new graduates that fit the description you just told me.” She happened to be the supervisor in her department at UCSF. We met up to talk more about it and since then I have been working with her on my resume. Whether or not I get the job, the Lord gave me a glimpse of what it’s like when I put my trust in Him despite being in the midst of fog, not knowing exactly where I am called to be. I am excited to see what will happen next, but I wanted to share this news with you all to testify that God is good all the time to each and every one of us. We just need to be sensitive to the blessings He surrounds us with.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Proverbs 3:5-6

These verses resonate with me so much right now. I pray that if you are going through a time of doubt, anxiety, or insecurity, that you too will meditate on this and get real with God about how you are feeling and trust that He will take care of the rest. I love you all, see you at Jerald’s for practice on Saturday 🙂

In Christ alone,

Anna
