Hope all of you are doing well this beautiful week! It’s been so warm outside I barely know what season we’re in.  🙂 Enjoying it for sure!

Before I list out our lineup, I’d just like to share some verses I read this morning:

Matthew 6

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

If you don’t know this about me, I’m actually a very anxious person. I try to be relaxed and at peace, but I’ve always struggled with over thinking and worrying. Funny thing is, I think it just makes my anxiety worse, which is why I’m so thankful for Matthew and his reminder that God is always in control and will provide. He knows our needs before we need them, so why bother dwelling on it? With this in mind, I thought a lot about trust in God, faith, peace and just the patience to allow things to unfold just as God wills them. I’m praying for peace for all of you too. 🙂

Ria’s Line Up: January 5, 2014

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas =) As I write this, there’s only about 22 hours left of 2013. I’m partly excited, partly saddened, but definitely ready. I’m thankful for last Sunday’s year-end message…about looking forward to what lies ahead. I think many of us take this new beginning that the calendar year brings as a chance to change…to be a better version of ourselves–and if you’re anything like me, there’s still a lot to work out and I’m really thankful for the opportunity to start fresh with each day. Like pastor said on Sunday, “if when you wake up in the morning, you still don’t yet look like Christ, it means there’s still work to be done”.

With that said, I want to share this passage with you…I think it’s a great passage to meditate on as we reflect on this past year and begin a new one because sometimes we do find ourselves wandering aimlessly but these verses tells us exactly what to do, what mindset to have. It is both a reminder of where our strength comes from and how we can then live our lives knowing we’re empowered by a God so big and mighty. And because of it, each day that we choose to clothe ourselves in love, or choose a thankful spirit over a negative one or embody a life of worship or we let the message be about Christ and Christ alone, we are one step closer to His image than we were the day before. My prayer is that we choose to let this passage come to life in each of our hearts.

Colossians 3:14-17

1Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.  16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. 17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

On to songs…

Our God is Greater

Happy Day
